Bowing to conventional Hollywood wisdom, Gilly left the animal genre
behind
to focus on a better co-star...her blanket.   Together they
starred in everything from Broadway to Dollywood.
Here you can see Gilly and the Blanket involved in the Broadway musical,
“Rode in with Rodin”, Music by Alain Boublil.  Here was the dance number
“I’m a thinker, not a stinker”.
When “Sopranos, the musical” first opened, fans of the long-time show
had some difficulty accepting Gilly as the lead
.  But eventually, everyone
agreed she was the best Tony, ever.
Gilly's musical talents became clear the night New York City was hit by a
terrible snow storm.  The weather delayed flights and left
The Metropolitan
Opera
without their lead.  Responding to their desperate cries for a true
soprano
, Gilly Rose ran over and set a world record for sustaining a high-C
for 35 full minutes.  As always, her trusty blanket attended for moral
support.
After bringing down the house at the Met, Gilly quipped,
"I'm just getting warmed up.  Warmed up - get it?!"
